Flora E. Walker, age 94, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at University Village in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Walker was born June 10, 1912 in Leola, South Dakota to Wynn Eyestone and Edna (Godfrey) Eyestone. Flora grew up in Washington, Iowa. She attended schools in this area and became a registered nurse. Flora met John W. Walker and they were married in Kingman, Arizona on January 30, 1943.
Mrs. Walker enjoyed crocheting and working in her garden before she retired. She and her husband moved from Denver, Colorado to Tulsa, Oklahoma in August 2005 and made their new home at University Village. She attended the Presbyterian church and was a member of Colorado Right To Life and Birth Right of Denver.
Flora E. Walker was preceded in death by both parents and one brother.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Walker of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one son: David Walker and his wife, Kay of Jonesboro, Georgia; two daughters: Helen Konowitz and her husband, Gary of San Anselmo, California; Esther Fellows and her husband, Jim of Mounds, Oklahoma; two sisters: Esther Eyestone of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Eleanor Trummel of Iowa City, Iowa along with seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 19, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at University Village with Reverend Merle Newton officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
