Flay Edgar Beasley (Beesley), 90, passed away Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Tablerock Healthcare in Kimberling City, Missouri. He was born June 15, 1922 to Henry and Dixie (Poplin) Beesley in Oakland, Arkansas. On May 21, 1941, he married Ruby Fern Gates. He served in the United States Army in 1945. Flay was a farmer, then a glass-breaker at American Window Glass Co. in Okmulgee for 23 years until it closed, then he worked on oil well-service units until age 62. His retirement hobby was mowing yards in Okemah. He mowed as many as 28 yards and then he and Ruby moved to Branson, Mo. in 1999. He had many good years of retirement in Branson. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ruby Fern Beasley; four children, Don Beasley & wife Jean of Morris,Ok., Rick Beasley & wife Theresa of Branson, Mo., Debi Leete & husband Tom of Plano,Tx. and Becky Mandelbaum & husband, Ric of Palm Desert, Ca; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Harris, Zenith Brooks, Judy Cooper and six brothers; Alva, Fred, Bill, Eddie, Ted, & Danny Beesley. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Burial will follow the service at the Okfuskee Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army. Pallbearers will be Jeff Beasley, Jonathan Beasley, Bryan Beasley, Tyler Leete, Shaun Raley, Christopher Schroeder and Seth Kellogg. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ben Haynes, Leroy Gates, Cliff Gates and Harvey Hart. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Family will greet friends Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
