Evelyn Marie (Pendleton) Hohuski Poe age 90 passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 in Jenks, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family members. Evelyn was born September 28, 1921 in Meta, Missouri to Alonzo "Otto" Pendleton and Dosha (Penny) Evans. She served in the United States Navy as a Wave during World War II. During her civilian life she worked as an Accounting Clerk. Evelyn served as a president for American Legion Auxiliary. Some of her passions were crocheting, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, writing poems, and working in her garden. She was patriotic and collected retired flags and made sure they were disposed of properly. Evelyn had many adventures during her lifetime. She was Grand Marshall for Veterans Day Parade November 11, 2009; she carried the torch for a part of the Olympics; won awards for running in senior Olympics; community worker, aid to crippled children, lady oriental, served as high priestess with Shrines, president of American Legion Post #1, flag history presentation to schools, groups, etc.. She had many talents - mime, clown, balloon maker and with her passion for crocheting she won 1st place at Tulsa State Fair for crocheting Barbie furniture. She also worked in the Shriners circus and was Legion Honor Guard. She was preceded in death by her parents: Alonzo and Dosha Pendleton, her sister, Margaret Kuschel and her brother, Raymond Pendleton. She is survived by her son Sigmund (Jim) Hohulski and his wife, Carolyn of Tulsa, her daughter Linda Warner and her husband, Jim of Cherokee, her daughter Mary Engles and her husband, Rob of Jenks, her son Bob Hohulski and his wife, Donna of Skiatook, her daughter, Nancy Dickey and her husband, Jim of Sand Springs, her sister, Virginia Goff of Union, Missouri, her eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, her devoted seven grand dogs along with other family members, friends and acquaintances. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schaudt's Funeral Home. Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Jenks, Oklahoma. Reverend Evan will officiate. Pallbearers are: Nathan Engles, Dillon Engles, JC Warner, Guy Warner, Sean Hohulski and Mike Kennell. Honorary pallbearers are: Sigmund Hohulski, Bob Hohulski, Jim Dickey, Jim Warner, Mike and Rob Engles. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Garden in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care.
