Euwin "Hoss" Watkins was born October 17, 1925 and passed from this life Sunday, December 1, 2013.
Euwin was married to Marie Watkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Carrie Watkins, four brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Marie, his daughter, Vicki Youngblood and her husband, Glen of Tulsa, his son Michael Watkins and his wife, Cindy of Tulsa, two step-children, two grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and two brothers along with other family members and friends.
Euwin served in the United States Army from December 7, 1944 to August 17, 1946 as a Special Vehicle Operator in the Philippine Islands during World War II. After the war Euwin worked for People's Ice Company in Tulsa. From 1947-1952 he owned and operated ice routes out of Sand Springs and from 1952-1955 Euwin and Arly Hall owned Watkins Grocery. He then worked from 1955-1967 at Meadow Gold/Beatrice Foods. 1967 and later he was co-owner of Watkins Sand Company.
Euwin loved to fish. He loved music and dancing at the Moose Lodge where he was a member for many years.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Cardiac Care at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa for the wonderful care Euwin received.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Home.
Funeral services are Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Indian Springs Baptist Church, 7815 S. Elm Place in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma 74012.
