Eunice Burke

Eunice Marie Burke, a resident of Henryetta, OK, was born on July 22, 1919 in Francis, Oklahoma to Larcie Mandy Scroggins and Benjamin Harrison Stephens. She married Patrick J. Burke on July 3, 1935 in Spelter City, OK. She worked as a waitress and a housekeeper. She passed away on May 17, 2010 in Henryetta, OK at the age of 90 years. Eunice is survived by her 2 sons: Thomas J. Burke and wife Violet of Sand Springs, Ok, and Dennis H. Burke and wife Faye of McKinney, TX; 3 daughters: Carol Dow and husband Eldon of Henryetta, OK, Patricia Payton and husband Ronnie of Liberty Mounds, Ok, and Linda K. Stanton of Skiatook, OK; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick J. Burke on September 9, 1982, son Edward Eugene in April of 1942, son-in-law Tom in 2001; daughter-in-law Betty in 2001; 3 brothers: John Kenneth, Garland Stephens, and Louis Stephens; & sister Jewell Briscoe. Visitation for Eunice will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 2:00pm - 8:00pm. Services have been planned for Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 10:00am at the Shurden Funeral Home Chapel in Henryetta, OK. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta, OK.
