Eugene Joseph Germaine, 93, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016, in Tulsa.
Eugene proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was awarded eleven battle stars while serving as a Torpedo Man aboard a destroyer in the Pacific Theater. Upon discharge he reenlisted in the Navy Reserve for eight more years. Eugene attended Newark College of Engineering and Rutger's University. He worked for the M.W. Kellogg Co. in New York City, Packaging Engineer for P. Ballantine & Sons, Staff Engineer for Jos. Schlitz Brewing Co. in Milwaukee, Superintendent of Brewing Engineering and Process Engineer at the Schlitz and Stroh's Brewery Plant in Longview, TX. Upon retirement he worked for a number of years as a consultant at various Stroh's plants around the country. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 4002 and a member of the Tin Can Sailor's, an organization of destroyer sailors. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, proceeded in death by his mother, Rose; father Eugene, brothers: Al and Frank; and wife, Dorothy. He is survived by his son, Eugene of Gilberts, IL; daughter, Sandra of Tulsa, OK and five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
