Ethel Irene Skinner age 90 passed away at her residence Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in Jenks, Oklahoma.
Irene was born in Buffalo, Oklahoma on May 1, 1918 and was the daughter of John Raymond Clark and Ethel Irene (Hamm) Clark. Irene just celebrated her 90th birthday. Her father was a Baptist preacher and their family moved to Wewoka, Oklahoma where Irene grew up. Her family moved to Martin, Tennessee where she met her future husband, Paul Skinner.
In 1973 Irene became a member of Castle Hills First Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas. Irene worked for Dr. Everett P. Bratcher as a nurse for thirty-three years before she retired June 1995. Irene was a people person and loved to travel. She traveled to every state in the United States except for three. In the past three years she went to Europe twice. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents: John and Ethel Clark along with her husband: Paul Pendleton Skinner (1998).
Irene is survived by her sons: Raymond Lee Skinner and his wife, Marian of Friendswood, Texas; Robert Eugene Skinner and his wife, Linda of Jenks, Oklahoma; Noel Clark Skinner and his wife, Kathy of Texas City, Texas; her brother: Paul Herman Clark and his wife, Pat of Fenton, Missouri; her sister: Ruth Perrin of The Woodlands, Texas; grandchildren: Mary Anderson and her husband, Chris and their children: Hunter and Molly of League City, Texas; Jamie Groth and her husband, Bill and their daughter: Haley of League City, Texas; Beth Wood and her husband, James of Jenks, Oklahoma; Kevin Skinner and his wife, Sarah and their daughter: Emilie of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Nathan Skinner and Brandon Skinner of Texas City, Texas.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 29th at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, San Antonio, Texas.
