Esther Mae Mortensen

Esther Mae (McClymond) Mortensen passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 in her home. She was 88.

Esther was born April 18, 1930 in Deepwater, Missouri. She was the daughter of Estell (Plecker) McClymond and Eziekel McClymond.

She was a 1946 graduate from Deepwater High School.

Shortly after graduation Esther married the love of her life, William S. Mortensen. The two started a family and eventually moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1962.

She worked as a school bus driver for Tulsa Public Schools until she retired in 1995.

Esther enjoyed crocheting and reading books in her spare time. She often listened to country music and would cook for her family and friends. Her family meant the world to her and she cherished every moment she spent time with them. Esther had a outgoing and sweet personality. She was kind, patient and had a loving heart for all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Estell (Plecker) McClymond and Eziekel McClymond; husband, William S. Mortensen; three sisters, Elaine Welch and Lucille Bigler; and two brothers, Wendall McClymond and Joseph McClymond.

Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Ward; two sons, Randy Mortensen and his wife, Barbara and Steve Mortensen; and two grandchildren, Mark and Chuck. She also leaves one sister, Ruth Kidney.
