Eric Gillette, age 33, formerly of Lowell, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2007. Eric was a member of the Wrestling Team at Grandville High School before his graduation in 1991. After high school, he started training as a pattern maker and continued his training with tool and die, becoming a journeyman die maker in 2000. He loved designing dies and was very meticulous in what he did. Eric loved music and was a huge fan of progressive trance music. When you saw Eric, you would find Rip (his Boxer dog) by his side. Eric enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking. He enjoyed exploring and learning new things and loved a good card game, especially Hand and Foot, Pedro, and Euchre. Eric was an avid reader enjoying science fiction and fantasy novels.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; mother, Shirley Menacher and her husband, James of Jenison; father, David Gillette and his wife, Myrna, of Grandville; sister, Carrie and Jeff Fletcher of Standale; nephew, Ashton; niece, Kirin; Jennifer's family, Ken and Sandy Chaney, Sr. of Spring Lake, Ken Chaney, Jr. and his family of Spring Lake, and Jolene and Rich Boger and family of Clarksville.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m Saturday at the Pederson Funeral Home, Rockford , Michigan with The Rev. Frank Rothfus of St. Lukes Lutheran Church officiating. Interment in Lyons Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Michigan. Friends may meet with Eric's family from 2-4 and 7-9 on Friday at the funeral home.
