Elsie Burn went safely home into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 5, 2015. God gave her 91 wonderful years of life. She was born May 15, 1923 in LeRoy, Kansas. She graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, Kansas. After graduating, she taught school for four years. In 1945 she married her high school sweetheart E. K. “Bun” Burn when he returned from World War II. His heavenly home going preceded her in 2003.
She was also preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Ray Danner and her brother Jack Danner. She is survived by her brother Jess Danner and his wife Margaret; brother Bill Danner and his wife Marlene; and sister-in-law DeEtta Danner.
She was a long-time member of Tulsa Bible Church, active in her Sunday School class and the Praying Grandma’s group.
Her family was her earthly treasure and she poured her life into loving, enjoying and serving them. She was our #1 fan. She leaves behind 4 children and their spouses: daughter Kay Blythe and her husband Ron; son Don Burn and his wife Janice; son Max Burn and his wife Judy; and daughter Linda Cosgrove and her husband Dean. She was a loving grandmother to Jeff Tolle and his wife Jocelyn; Blaine Burn and his wife Lisa; Eric Burn; Nick, Matt, and Jake Burn; Amber and Garret Blythe and Callie Gann and her husband Mike. To her great delight she was the great grandmother of Jared, Jessica and Jeremy Tolle; Sydney, Hallie and Danner Burn; Kennedy and Cash Burn; and Max Burn. She had nine grandblessings and nine great grandblessings. They all were the apple of her eye.
She enjoyed fishing and could fry up a batch of crappie that was eagerly enjoyed by all. She grew beautiful roses and loved to garden. She was an avid reader, and a wonderful cook, but mostly she enjoyed visiting with you and being with you. She loved people and saw the best in others and could befriend and love even the most difficult. Continually encouraging you with praise and thankfulness, she never gave up on you. Her door was always open to greet you, her arms outstretched to lovingly welcome you with something delicious ready to serve you. She was loved by all and we thank God for her.
