Elmer L. Rollins

Elmer L. "Doc", 93, died in his sleep on November 12, 2007. Born 1914 in Tipton, OK, he attended Edinburg Jr. College, Texas A and I and A and M, and the University of Southern California, receiving his BS and MS degrees. Married to Eva Lynn Rollins in 1941, he was an FBI agent in Washington, D.C. for nine years and then served as a nuclear safety inspector and disaster planner for the Atomic Energy Commission from 1950 until retirement, residing in Aiken, SC; Kansas City, MO; and Albuquerque, NM. During this time he was a military liaison coordinator during construction of the Savannah, GA, nuclear plant; security chief for the Kansas City office, and the emergency disaster mobilization coordinator for the commission's facilities and contractors in Albuquerque and Los Alamos, NM, as well as for offices in Missouri, Ohio, Iowa, Texas, and Florida. He recently moved to Tulsa to be near family. He is survived by: his son, Mark W. Rollins, and daughter, Lynn Rollins Price; daughter-in-law, Christina; and son-in-law, Landon Price. He also leaves: grandsons Matthew Rollins (and Matthew's wife Laura and great-grandson, Jonah); Blake Rollins (of Washington, D.C.); Grant Price; and Cameron Price. Doc made lasting friendships, cherishing them to the end. He voiced the philosophy: "The past is prologue."
His family will celebrate his memory in a private service with interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, OK.
