Elmer Grady Kennedy Sr. was born on April 29, 1930 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to his parents, Delacy and Ada (Goudeau) Kennedy.
Elmer attended Olympia County Schools and later joined the Army. Upon becoming a spouse and father, he was determined to provide for his family. His work ethics were exemplary. He worked in construction for several years, followed by 30 years at Continental Trailways. Later in life, Elmer established a successful fencing business. His resilience in life will always be remembered.
Elmer's love for everything cowboy was well known by everyone who knew him. He embraced the black cowboy deep within his heart. When the work for the day has been done, you would find him clothed in fresh ironed jeans, boots, and a hat ready to ride into the sunset.
