Ellis (Bill) Dodson, 82, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Friday, February 12, 2010. He was born on November 9, 1927 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Orville & Daisy Dodson. Bill married Pauline Henderson in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 14, 1964. Bill served in the Navy during both WWII and the Korean Conflict. He attended Oklahoma A & M Tech in Okmulgee. His jobs over the years included maintenance mechanic, electrician, and carpenter. In his later years, Bill and Pauline traveled all over the United States stopping to set up as vendors at Flea Markets along the way. He was a member of Compass Assembly of God, Okmulgee. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Dodson, Okmulgee; one sister, Vivian Kennedy of Okemah; sons Bobby & Billy Dodson of Okmulgee, Paul Dodson of Tulsa, Tommy & William Dodson both of Texas; daughters Tami Kilgore of Muldrow, Pattie Glosenger, Pennie Thomas, & Dorothy Dodson of Arkansas, Debbie Pivarnik of Broken Arrow. Bill also is survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home in Okmulgee (918-756-3300) with Pastor Rex Mc Dowell officiating. Pallbearers will be Bill’s grandsons: William Smith, Billy Dodson Jr., Jason Dodson, David Douglas, Matthew Dodson, Brandon Stayer, Victor Cook and Derrick Green. Interment will be at the Highland Cemetery, Okemah. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from 2-8 pm and Wednesday, February 17, 2010 from 9-noon.
