Elizabeth Carol Piantanida
December 24, 1949 - December 08, 2024
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Carol Piantanida, who left this world on December 08, 2024, at the age of 74. Born in Saint Louis, Missouri, on December 24, 1949, Elizabeth lived a life filled with compassion, service, and love for others.
A devoted daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother, Elizabeth's legacy is one of selflessness and care. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Angela Piantanida, and her cherished granddaughter, Shaleena Cook. She is also survived by her loving sister, Nancy Cole, and her brother, Fred Fischer.
As a lifelong nurse, Elizabeth's career was not merely a profession but a calling. She cared for others with extraordinary dedication, whether in her work as a nurse or in her daily life. Her spirit was that of a healer, and her kindness extended beyond the hospital or clinic, touching everyone she met. She was an active member of Christ the Redeemer Church, where she shared her time and love with her faith community.
Elizabeth was an avid volunteer, giving her time and heart to many causes. She had a particular passion for Rock Steady Boxing, where she volunteered to help those battling Parkinson's disease, and she contributed to numerous other organizations throughout her life. Whether traveling the world or on medical mission trips, Elizabeth was committed to making a difference wherever she went.
An animal lover through and through, Elizabeth always had a special place in her heart for creatures great and small. Her compassion extended not only to people but to the animals she cared for throughout her life.
In honor of Elizabeth's generous and loving spirit, her family requests that donations be made to Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry and the Alzheimer's Association, organizations she supported and held dear.
Elizabeth's passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her life is a testament to the power of love, service, and compassion. We take comfort in knowing that her legacy will live on in the many lives she touched, and in the lessons she imparted through her unwavering commitment to helping others.
She will be missed dearly, but her love and light will continue to guide us all.
Rest in peace, Elizabeth. You were a true angel among us.
