Elizabeth Nora Palmer

August 7, 1917 — April 9, 2012

Elizabeth Reamer Palmer, 94, died April 9, 2012, in San Luis Obispo, CA. She was born August, 1917 in Okmulgee, OK to Ebern and Lillie Reamer. Elizabeth attended elementary school and high school in Okmulgee, where she met Charles Hersman Palmer. It was instant attraction and they married in 1936. Elizabeth and Charles moved to Santa Monica, California in the 1942 where Charles worked for McDonnell Douglas. They moved to Pacific Palisades, Calif. in 1953. Charles and Elizabeth had one son Richard Palmer born in 1948. Elizabeth worked for Sears for 23 years, beginning with part-time work and ending up as the secretary to the manager. After retiring from Sears she wanted to keep busy so she worked part-time for Forgette’s a gift shop in Pacific Palisades. Elizabeth loved to travel visiting 10 countries in Europe, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and South America. She was very devoted to her church, an active member of Palisades Lutheran Church she did many jobs, treasurer of the women’s group, member of the Council Guild, Sunday school teacher, and in 2009-10 she was Congregational President. She was active all her life enjoying square-dancing, ti-chi, working at Will Rogers as a docent, and playing with her great-grandsons Logan, Luke and Camden. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Palmer in 1995, her son Richard Palmer in 2011. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Linda Palmer of San Luis Obispo, CA.; Grandson Matthew (Brittney) Palmer of Atascadero Calif., Granddaughter Becky (Anthony) Palmer of Los Osos Calif., Great-grandsons Camden Palmer of Atascadero and Logan Au-Palmer and Luke Au-Palmer of Los Osos, CA. She will be buried next to her husband Charles in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
