Elizabeth "Lisa" Layne Cooper Nichols age 62, Tulsa, OK passed away the evening of Friday, February 3, 2023 surrounded by her family at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa.
Lisa was born February 22, 1960 in Cape Girardeau, MO and grew up in St. Louis County before moving to Oklahoma for college. She graduated with a masters degree in Community Counseling from Oklahoma State University.
Lisa loved life and was known by all for her free spirit. She had several creative and entrepreneurial endeavors, most notably owning a craft shop, DJ-ing at KMOD as "Lisa Lisa", collecting and selling antiques, and, most recently, designing stained glass art. She loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, Dave Matthews Band, and her sweet dog Langley.
Lisa was most proud of her daughters Lauren (Jake) Swift of Johnson City, TN and Allie (Colin) Parajon of Los Angeles, CA.
She is survived by her mother Wilma Sheffer, brother David Cooper, sisters Sue Parrent, Carole Eli, Sharon Cooper, and brother Matthew Sheffer. She is also survived by several aunts, twelve nieces and nephews, four great nieces and nephews, and countless friends. She is preceded in death by her father, William Cooper, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Memorial services will be held from 2-3pm on Wednesday, February 8th at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Tulsa Day Center or your charity of choice.
