Elizabeth Ann Rising Diehl
Born Dec 7, 1928, in Kings County, Washington, to Ruth and Guy Rising.
The family then moved to Bryson, Texas, and ultimately to Stillwater, OK. Elizabeth went to OK A&M College, was a member of Kappa Delta sorority, was selected as a Redskin Beauty, and graduated with a degree in Art.
In 1948, she married Thomas Wright Diehl of Stillwater. After graduation the couple moved to Tulsa. Elizabeth worked as a style coordinator for Brown Dunkin, until her first child was born. She and Tom were active in a square dance club and enjoyed playing bridge with their friends. Elizabeth volunteered for various organizations while raising three children. She was active in PEO, serving in several leadership capacities, including President of the local Chapter EC. She also worked with the Babies Milk Fund Organization. Always an artist and art lover, she was a docent at Gilcrease Museum, and took painting classes as often as possible. She was an avid tennis player for many years, and traveled extensively with her husband, Tom. Her greatest joy in life was her three children, whom she loved very much.
She is survived by her loving husband and children, Carol (Diehl) Holt of Portland, ME, Daniel Diehl of Jenks, and Jane (Diehl) Specketer of Denver, CO; Grandchildren, Piper Curry, Adam Diehl and Alex Diehl; and Great Grandchildren, Charlotte and Everett Curry, and Malcolm Diehl.
