Elisabeth K Smalling

A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Elisabeth K Smalling will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019, at 11 AM at Schaudt's Okmulgee Chapel with pastor Dennis Taylor officiating.

Elisabeth K Smalling passed away on March 30, 2019, at the age of 84. Elisabeth was born on April 18, 1934 in Schweinfurt, Germany, to parents, Johann and Anna Schussler. She met the love of her life, Jerry Smalling and together they were married for 61 years. They had two children, Cimone and Rand.

Elizabeth was a WWII survivor. Growing up in Germany, as a young child left her a history that would always be a part of her life. She was ten when the war was over and survived a bombing of the school she was attending.

Elisabeth was a stay at home mother until her children were older. She would go on to work for Morris Public Schools as a custodian where she worked for 21 years. In 2008, she moved to Okmulgee where she would live at Baptist Village. Here is where she would continue a few of the hobbies she enjoyed such as being a bell-ringer, crocheting, making blankets for family and friends, and enjoyed spending time with those she loved.

She is preceded in death by husband, Jerry Smalling, parents, Johann and Anna Schussler, and daughter, Mona Taylor.

Those left to cherish her memory with their family include, daughter, Cimone Ballenger and husband Roger, of Okmulgee, son, Rand Smalling and wife Lori of Bixby, son in-law, James Taylor, Grandchildren include, Lindsay Nelson and husband Brian, Nicholas Smalling, Ashlee Smalling, James Derington, Elizabeth and Kimberly Taylor. As well as six great grand children.
