Ray Ward passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in Kansas City, Missouri at the Kansas City Hospice House at the age of 72.
Elbert €œRay€ Ward was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 10, 1935 to Clarence Elbert Ward and Myrtle Anna (Jones) Ward. Ray married the love of his life, Waneta Henderson on September 11, 1955. By trade, Ray was a hardwood floor installer. In Ray's spare time he was an avid fisherman; enjoyed coon hunting, deer hunting and traveling. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Glenpool, Oklahoma.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Myrtle Ward; his sister: Reba Roemer of Ohio and his wife: Juaneta who passed away September 16, 1997 just after they celebrated their forty-second anniversary.
Ray is survived by two sons: Wayne Ward and his wife, Diane of Kansas City, Kansas; David Ward and his wife, Sandy of Bixby, Oklahoma; three daughters: Debbie Siwek and her husband, Scott of Branson, Missouri; Raelene Evans and her late husband, Bill of Hectorville, Oklahoma; Teresa Ward of Hectorville, Oklahoma; his sister: Pamela Woltz of Lancaster, Ohio; brother: Floyd Ward and his wife, Judy of Grove, Oklahoma; sister in-law: Dottie Still of Glenpool, Oklahoma; sister in-law: Lola Mount and husband, Keith of Sedan, Kansas; Eva Hankins and husband, Mark of Winfield, Kansas; sister in-law: Kay Hull and her husband, Don of Wisconsin; sister in-law: Linda Chavez of Bixby, Oklahoma; brother in-law: Orval Henderson of Cambridge, Kansas along with eighteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2008 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Ron Baker of First Baptist Church will officiate.
