Edwin Fish

January 30, 1931 — September 13, 2024

On the morning of September 13, 2024, Edwin M. (Ed) Fish of Broken Arrow, OK passed from this life to receive his crown of glory after a short illness. He was 93.

Ed was born in Lyons, KS to Floyd and Verna (Myerley) Fish on January 30, 1931. The family moved to Parsons, KS during his formative years and graduated Class of 1949 from Labette County High School in Altamont, KS. After serving in the Army, Ed enjoyed a lifelong career with IBM ranging from hardware and customer support to software development, in Tulsa, OK, Kingston, NY, and Littleton, CO. His career with IBM was something he venerated and was a source of great pride that resulted in numerous service awards.

Ed was known for his quick wit and dry sense of humor, love of family, especially his grand- and great-grandchildren, and his fondness for adventure while camping, hiking, and fishing. Many times, all these elements came together during epic multi-generational camping or vacation trips with all being entertained by Ed's amusing quips, quotes, and stories. He also loved taking the time to show a grandchild how to tie a knot, build a fire, or catch a fish. Additionally, he gave his time to the community both coaching baseball and serving in leadership roles with the local troop of Boy Scouts.

Ed is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years Donna (Good) Fish whom he married on Sept 19, 1954, his parents Floyd & Verna Fish, his sister Lois Hudson, and his brothers Donald & Vernon Fish. He is survived by his sister, Jeanne Levy, his four children, Leanna, Brian, Scott, and Neil, nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
