Edward Glen Skelly

February 4, 1934 — June 16, 2008

Edward Glen Skelly age 74 passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Clarehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by loving family members.
Edward was born in Jones, Oklahoma to Dan York Skelly and Stella Mae (Lee) Skelly. He attended schools in Oklahoma City and then enlisted into the U. S. Army. On March 29, 1986 he married Carmen Zamarripa in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Edward lived in Jenks, Oklahoma for fifteen years before he moved to his Tulsa residence. Edward had attended North Heights Freewill Baptist Church and worked as a truck driver for E. L. Powell Trucking Company for fifteen years, AKT, Callico Trucking and MS Carriers and before he retired, he worked for CFI Trucking Company out of Joplin, Missouri. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling, fishing, and doing carpentry work. He was a loyal fan of Chet Atkins, the country music artist and he liked playing his guitar.
He was preceded in death by both his parents: Dan and Stella Skelly; his sister, and great granddaughter.
Edward is survived by his loving wife: Carmen Skelly; his children: Brenda Bohannon, Rhonda Heimdale, Margaret Walters, Mary Ann Riley, Paul Skelly, Glenda Ashcraft, David W. Skelly, David A. Skelly, Simon Lopez, Constance Lopez, Nina Davis, Antoinette Wade, Mary Widowski, Kathleen Lopez; his brother: Richard Martinez, seven sisters in-law, three brothers in-law along with forty grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren many nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church, 202 S. Maple, Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Pastor Chris Lindsay and Pastor Eddie Riley will officiate.
