Edna Pearl Gleue, 94, passed away peacefully Monday evening, October 9, 2017.
Edna was born May 6, 1923 in Burlington, Kansas to Pearl (Henley) and Walter Franklin.
Edna graduated from Burlington High School.
On October 5, 1952, she married George Gleue in Burlington, where they started their life together.
Edna worked at Daniel International at Wolf Creek as a cost accountant.
She was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington.
Edna was known as a "master shopper." She enjoyed a good game of pitch or spades, spending time on the golf course and her time for bible study. She will be remembered as cheerful, loving and blessed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Gleue; parents, Pearl (Henley) and Walter Franklin; her twin brother, Edward Franklin; and sister, Alice Skocpol.
Survivors include two daughters, Tana Gleue-Ayre and husband, Rick, and Gretchen Gleue; grandchildren, Alex Ayre and wife, Aubrey, Nick Ayre and wife Becca, Eli Scrivner and his wife, Keegan, Elise Woody, and Elliott Woody; great-grandson, Cohen Ayre; and great-granddaughter, Lily Woodward. She is also survived by cousin, Retha Tweedy; her sister-in-law, Loriane Franklin, and nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 11 AM at Graceland Cemetery, Burlington.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Edna's name to Comforting Hands Hospice, 1366 SE Washington Blvd, Suite A Bartlesville, OK 74006 or Disaster Response/Relief in Care of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
