Edna Jane Pither, 83 passed away peacefully on Monday, July 19, 2004 at a local Tulsa hospital. Edna was born March 24, 1921 in Olive, Oklahoma to Jeff Scott and Ada Kansas Baker Scott. She was a retired seamstress and had worked for Samsonite Luggage. She moved to Tulsa from California in 1979.
Edna was an author, writer and published poet. She belonged to the Tulsa Writers Guild. Edna will be remembered by her family and friends as being the most generous, loving and beautiful person - she touched the hearts of many people whom she encountered along her life's journey.
Mrs. Pither was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Ada Scott and her brother: Sam Scott of California . She is survived by her son: James Ed Ball, Jr. and his wife, Barbara Jo of Denver, CO; daughter: Gwen Viola Hobgood and her husband, Larry of Tulsa, OK; brother: Carl Scott of California and sisters: Wannie Mitchell, Okemah, OK and Louise Orr and her husband, Slim, of Norman, OK. Mrs. Pither has 12 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grand child.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004 at Rock Creek Cemetery in Okemah, Oklahoma.
