Edna Edith Shepherd, a resident of the Wilson Community, went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the age of 80. She was born April 15, 1931 to Floyd and Ethel (Huff) Brison in Ryal, Oklahoma. Edna enjoyed spending time with her family doing many things such as; fishing, going to ballgames, going to rodeos and play days, playing cards and working puzzles. She loved attending church and gospel singings, at which she attended the Dewar First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Shepherd, parents, Floyd and Ethel Brison; two sisters, Velma Britt and Merlene Brison and two brothers, Robert Brison and Levi Brison. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy Manns and Jack of Wilson; daughter and son-in-law, Johnnie Mae Legg and Andy of Meeker; five sisters, Margaret Upshaw, Lillian Philippe, Dorothy Brown, Sue Cooper and Julie Ollis; four brothers, Ronnie Brison, Ray Brison, Roy Brison and Raymond Brison; six grandchildren, Maegan Manns, Jordan Legg and wife, Whitney, Andra Tipton and husband, Jared, Caleb Harelson, Josh Harelson and wife, Belinda and Jesica Sparkman and husband, Darren; two step-grandchildren, Tanner Manns, Marvin Manns and wife, Jamie; eight great grandchildren, Brisyn Hope Tipton, Reece Legg, Sawyer Harelson, Addie Tipton, Lora Sparkman, Kyle Sparkman, Emma Sparkman and Madison Manns; numerous other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the Dewar First Baptist Church with Brother Jack Vance and Brother Craig Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Salt Creek Cemetery in Wilson under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Henryetta. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Josh Harelson, Caleb Harelson, Jordan Legg, Darren Sparkman, Jared Tipton, Tanner Manns and Marvin Manns. Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews, Greg Upshaw, Monty Britt, Ronnie Brison II, Jerry Brison, Jimmy Brison and Dean Shepherd. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel in Henryetta.
