Edith Louise Long

September 4, 1931 — November 17, 2016

Edith Louise Long, age 85, died peacefully with family by her side Thursday afternoon November 17, 2016. She was born September 4, 1931 in Love Community located in Garvin County, Oklahoma to her parents, Herman and Ova Lee (Martin) Murray.
Edith married Kenneth Noel Long and they had 2 sons, Nathan and Henry. Edith was a devoted wife and mother taking care of things around the family’s home.
She enjoyed oil painting, needlepoint, baking, and preparing special holiday dinners. She enjoyed spending time with her family and adored her grandsons and great-grandson. Edith loved watching birds almost as much as she did watching Westerns. She was avid reader of the bible and an active member of Pauls Valley Church of Christ, participating in the potluck dinners and other church activities. She was a helper to many; she would take those who couldn’t drive to their doctor’s appointments or to the grocery store. She enjoyed visiting folks in the assisted living centers and spending time being with people.
Edith is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her son, Henry.
She leaves many loving memories with her family; son, Nathan and wife Jill; sister, Kathleen Walden, sister, Ginger Townsend; grandsons, Chance Long and Jeffrey Long and wife Brooke; and great-grandson, Mason Levi Long; as well as many other loving relatives and a host of friends.
The family will be having private services to be held at a later date.
Arrangements were entrusted to Schaudt’s Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care. Family and friends may view the obituary and send condolences to the family online at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com
