Edith B. Johnson

Edith Johnson, a longtime Henryetta resident, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 17, 2012 at the age of 82 years. Funeral services have been entrusted to the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home, Henryetta, Ok. and will be held at 10:00 am Friday, January 20, 2012 at the funeral home at 411 West Division Street. Bro Gary Greenfield and Bro Glenn Thompson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta. The daughter of Walter Blakley and Myrtle (Stout), Edith was born on July 21, 1929 in Henryetta. She was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in August 1945. Edith was united in marriage to Melvin Johnson on February 2, 1946 in Henryetta. Preceding her in death, was her husband, Melvin, two sons: Tony and Terry; two sisters Rosemary Thompson and Marie Robinson, one granddaughter and one great grandson, Tyler. Survivors are two sons, Allen and wife Linda of Henryetta; Tim and wife Elmira of Greenwood, Indiana. Fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
