Earl Jackson Rose, Sr. of Okmulgee, Oklahoma passed away side on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the age of 85. Earl was born on November 27, 1935 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to his parents, Odie and Essie (Moore) Rose.
He grew up in the Tiger Mountain area and was a graduate of Pierce High School in Pierce, Oklahoma. Earl was married at a young age to Claudine Sue Lovell and from that union came three children Mikeal, Cathy, and Earl, Jr. He later married his late wife Shirley in Sapulpa, OK.
Earl worked for Borge Bankoff in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a crane operator for 37 years. Throughout those 37 years, Earl was providing for and growing a family. He understood the value of hard work and raising his family in a Christian home. He grew relationships with people he would often meet to drink coffee with including his two sons, Michael and Earl Jr. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Okmulgee and could easily be described as a man who was so sweet and was kind to everyone and a lover of Wheel of Fortune. He also enjoyed camping and fishing in his earlier years.
He is preceded in death by wife, Shirley Rose; father, Odie Rose; mother, Essie Rose. Brother, Sigil Rose; sister, Barb as well as granddaughter Mariah Rose.
Earl leaves many loving memories with his family, Mikeal Rose and wife Tina of Morris, Oklahoma; Cathy Brintle and husband Gary of Checotah, Oklahoma; Earl J. Rose, Jr. and wife Margaret of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Brother, Neal Rose; sisters, Patricia Page and Sharon Waygely as well as nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Public viewing and visitation will be held 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Schaudt's Okmulgee Funeral Service Chapel.
Graveside Service will be held 1:00 PM May 21, 2021 at Sonora Cemetery in Henryetta, Oklahoma, with pastor Richard Manning of Calvary Baptist Church officiating.
