Duncan Agyekum

Duncan was born in Ghana, West African on August 24, 1958. His parents were Agnes Osei Agyekum, and Kwame Agyekum. He grew up as an only child and spent his early formative years there in Ghana.

He attended High School at Legon Presbyterian Secondary School in Ghana. After completing High School he began to travel first to Britain where he attended a Business School. At some point the school in Britain closed and Duncan returned to Ghana, it was there that he saw a flyer advertising a Gospel crusade, after attending the meeting with his mother he received Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord. Some time after this Duncan traveled to Nigeria, where he continued his studies, later he moved to Italy where he lived for 14 years. He spoke Italian fluently and used to also preach in Italian.

Around the year 2004 Duncan came to the United States, where he met Deborah after arriving in New Jersey, and they were married in 2006. Duncan and Deborah came to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2008 so that Duncan could attend RHEMA Bible College and fulfill the call of God upon his life. He loved attending RHEMA Bible church and was an Usher at RHEMA since 2008. After graduating from RHEMA in 2011, Duncan went on to attend ORU where he was studying for his Master's Degree in Theology at the time of his death, he would have completed his Master’s Degree this coming May.

He loved reading Christian Books, and writing poetry. He was always interested in the things of God but he was a very quiet and sometimes introverted person. He also enjoyed watching soccer on tv and CNN

Duncan was always a very disciplined person and a healthy eater, he particularly loved broccoli and spaghetti. Duncan was always impeccably dressed and was never seen without his shirt starched, tucked in and his top button fastened even if he didn’t have a tie on.

He is survived by his wife Deborah, His mother Agnes and his son Nana Osei Agyekum. Duncan was 57 years old at the time of his Home going, he was loved and will be missed by all.
