Douglas Ray Lewis, age 67, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at his Glenpool, Oklahoma residence.
Doug was born on May 10, 1948 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Robert Oren Lewis and Fancy Violet (Lee) Lewis. He enlisted into the United States Air Force and served his country for four years. He received his Bachelor's of Science Degree from Tulsa University and his Masters Degree from University of Nebraska in Petroleum Engineering. Doug and Betty L. Zahn joined hands in marriage on September 17, 1995.
Doug retired from Williams Company after working as a Petroleum Engineer for over thirty years. He was an active volunteer at Clarehouse and at Southern Hills Baptist Church where he was a member of the Koinonia Church Class and a deacon.
He liked to play golf and free wheel biking. Doug enjoyed traveling, especially to Canada.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Fancy Lewis along with his sister, Margurette Phillips.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty of Tulsa, his son, Jeff Lewis, his daughter, Lory Bryant-Black and her husband, Sean, his son, Marc Bryant and his wife, Cyndi, his sister, Carol Sue Goodwin, granddaughter, Amy Hammner and husband, Blaine, great granddaughter, Skylar Hammner along with other family members and numerous friends and acquaintances.
Celebration of Life services are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Southern Hills Baptist Church, 5590 South Lewis, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74105 (918-743-8897). Pastor Hess Hester will officiate.
