Dorthy C. Guinn

Dorthy Clark Guinn was born May 27, 1922 to Joe and Bertha Pickett Clark in Salt Lake City Utah. She graduated from West High School. She married Earl David Guinn on December 10, 1942 in Tacoma, Washington. Before WWII she worked for the Sweets Candy Company in Salt Lake City and during the war worked in Toole, Utah. With her Air Force husband and her children she lived in various parts of the country and in Japan. After her husband's Air Force retirement they settled in Kaysville, Utah for many years and later moved to Sulphur and Ardmore Oklahoma. After her husband's death she moved to Fredericksburg, Virginia with her daughter Jean. She enjoyed country music, loved to dance, was a crossword puzzle wizard and enjoyed sightseeing. She loved her kids and helped spoil her grand and great grand kids. She is predeceased by her husband, Earl and her sister Fay Clark Nicholson (Bud) and is survived by her brother Ray Clark (Dixie) of Murray, Utah, her brother-in-law Warren J.(Bud) Nicholson and by her three children Carol Workman (Doug) of Mesa AZ, Jean Durham (Jan) of Fredericksburg, VA and Earl L. Guinn (Cheryl) of Cushing, OK. She has 15 grandchildren and 31 great grand children. Everyone who knew her loved her. She lived a long life and blessed the lives of all those who knew her. She left this earth on March 13th, 2012. She will be missed. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Salt Creek Cemetery in Wilson north of Henryetta under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Henryetta.
