Dorothy Lee Loyd

Dorothy Lee Loyd, born Dorothy Lee Brown on December 12, 1923, peacefully passed away in Tulsa, OK on June 25, 2010. Dorothy married Willard J. Loyd on September 13, 1941. Dorothy and Willard had three children, Linda Kaye (Deceased), Susan Lee Loyd-Rutland, and Gloria Jean Loyd-Bittle (Deceased). In 1942, Dorothy went to the west coast following Willard, who was in the US Navy. Dorothy surely was a part of the “Greatest Generation”. She worked for the US Army and the US Navy while Willard was at sea. She truly was a patriot in support of the war effort. Dorothy worked for the US Agriculture Service in the post war years. She had many years in the secretarial field. She also served as Court Bailiff in Eufaula, OK for Judge Joe LeMasters. She retired as a Legal Secretary. Dorothy leaves behind many friends and relatives. Those survivors are: daughter Susan Rutland and husband Dwayne, son-in-law Jim Bittle, Grandsons Erik Rutland and wife Melissa, Keith Bittle and wife Nicole, Randy Bittle, & Stan Bittle and wife Carolyn, granddaughter Robynn Smith and husband Doug, and great grand children, Kristen & A.J. Klingenmaier III, Ryan Smith, Sarah Smith, Ashley Bittle, Meghan Bittle, Noah Rutland,Ryan Rutland, and Alexander Bittle. Dorothy’s service will be Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 10:00am at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home of Henryetta. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery of Henryetta, Ok.
