Dorothy Cole

Dorothy "June" Cole, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on June 8, 1936, in Okmulgee, OK, she was the cherished daughter of William and Mabel (Crummett) Howell.

June's life was marked by love and dedication. Shortly after graduating from Okmulgee High School in 1954, she met her husband of 70 years, Donald Cole. They were married on July 17, 1954, and in 1959, they joyfully welcomed their daughter, Teresa, into their lives.

June enjoyed a fulfilling career as a Key Punch Operator in banking and ultimately retiring from OTASCO. After retirement, she stayed active, continuing to contribute her time and energy by volunteering for local organizations, including a decade of devoted service to Meals on Wheels. June was known for her vibrant spirit, sense of humor and many passions. She loved planning events, traveling, shopping, decorating, and baking. Her green thumb was evident in the flourishing plants and flowers she nurtured. Together with Don, she cherished their time at their lake house on Eufaula Lake, and her daughter, Teresa, fondly recalls their special trips across the country and all the weekends on Fort Gibson Lake.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and William Howell, and her siblings: Leland Howell, Wylie Phillips, Charles Howell, Doris Hathaway, Donald Lee Howell, Donna Debusk, Ray Howell, and Miles Howell. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories with her beloved husband, Don Cole; her daughter, Teresa Hudson, and son-in-law, David Hudson; her sister, Margaret Gadberry; her grandchildren, Brittany Sisney and husband Kyle, and Courtney Williams; her great grandchildren, Savvy, Saylor, Cannon, and Kinley; her bonus grandchildren Lacy Moody and husband Steve and their children Leah and Gavin, Kyle Hudson and wife Jodi and their children Halle and Harper; along with many loving relatives and a host of dear friends.

A public viewing and visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Schaudt's Okmulgee Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 11, 2024, at the same location, 220 S. Alabama Ave, Okmulgee, Oklahoma, with Pastor Brayden Buss officiating. A graveside ceremony will take place at the Okmulgee Cemetery following the funeral service. Pallbearers will be David Hudson, Kyle Hudson, Steve Moody, and Kyle Sisney, Tommy Howell and James VanHorne.
