Dorothy Ann Henson, a resident of Dewar, OK, passed away Saturday October 16, 2010 at 89 years old. She was born July 29, 1921, in Walters, OK, to Nellie and H.V. Buckley. Dorothy was a retired kindergarten teacher at Dewar Public Schools. She attended college at Seminole Junior College and East Central University in Ada, OK, where she earned a Bachelor Degree. She also was an active member of the Dewar First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday and Bible school classes. Dorothy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ida and Cary Fox of Preston, son and daughter-in-law, Donald W. and Beverly Henson of Okmulgee, son, Retired Lt. Col. William Neil Henson of Sparksburg, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kathy Henson of Lake Havasu, AZ, sisters, Hazel Dziuk of Friona, TX and Lillie McClain of Ada, grandchildren, Joe Fox of Ft. Lewis, WA, Josh Fox of Okmulgee, Jay Fox of Seminole, Aaron Henson of Tulsa, Meredith Henson-Talley of Tulsa, Trevor Henson of Tulsa, Colin “Chummy” Henson of Oklahoma City, Corey Henson of Sparksburg, GA, Matthew and John Mark Henson of Lake Havasu, AZ, 7 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clell W. Henson, parents, and daughter-in-law, Kaye Ann Henson. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at Dewar First Baptist Church with Brother Jack Vance officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery in Seminole under the direction of Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Henryetta.
