Dorothy A. Cooper, “Dottie Cooper”, born July 8, 1934 passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015. Dottie was a member of the Skelly Park Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Tulsa, OK. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William C. “Bill” Cooper and 3 daughters Danna Linn, Susan Alice, and Beverly Elizabeth. She was an Executive Secretary for many years in the healthcare industry working for Columbia Healthcare Systems and Doctor’s Specialty Hospital. Dottie was an exemplary homemaker for many years while raising her and Bill’s daughters: Danna, Suzi, and Beth. She was one of the best mom’s a girl could hope for. She had her southern charm, grace, and dignity. She believed in doing what was right. She was very involved in her ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was artistic, loved yard work, home improvements, sewing, and taught her girls everything she knew. She loved playing the piano and one of her favorite forms of entertainment was to have a congregation get-together with everyone else that loved to get together and play & sing music. She shared her love of music and playing together with her two sisters, Grace and Alice, and their children and of course-her girls. Both Bill and Dottie determined right from the start of their successful 60 year marriage to have a 3 fold cord with Jehovah leading their marriage. She was faithful to her Lord, her husband, and all her beliefs for her whole life. Dottie suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and its ravages the past several years. She always maintained her happy “ta-da” attitude and enjoyed all the activities she was involved in at Oasis Adult Day Services. She didn’t deserve the dreaded memory stealing disease called Alzheimer’s, but she managed it with the same grace and dignity she managed everything else with. To go along with Dottie’s playful sense of humor, her granddaughter Erin brought her a faithful companion, “Piglet” to keep her company while she was convalescing. Piglet photobombed many a picture with her pal “Dottie.” One of her nieces said “Aunt Dottie” always reminded me of 2 people in one- Jackie Kennedy and Betty White. Southern, graceful, beautiful, polite, and soft spoken, with the best sense of fun and humor. We will miss her and look forward to when we can see her again whole and forever young just as she believed. The family thanks Hospice of Green Country for their special loving care of Dottie. She is survived by her husband Bill Cooper, 3 daughters, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
