Dorleska Rylene Polk passed away on June 17, 2023 at Arbor Village nursing home in Sapulpa, Ok.
Rylene was born on September 26, 1938, in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma. She lived in many locations including, but not limited to: Oklahoma, California, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Washington State. During her lifetime she held various Jobs including bar tender, elder care assistant and home maker.
As a teenager she like to roller skate and was very good at it. She enjoyed traveling and seeing new sights. She spent alot of time and enjoyed digging herbs and collecting mushrooms. She even paid a man to hand build a special tool out of a car spring which she used for digging herbs. She had a special fondness for plants and animals. She like cats, raccoons, and humming birds. She always had plants inside and outside where ever she lived. She spent time being creative by drawing and was also an excellent cook. Her specialties were fried chicken, fried potatoes and home made, from scratch, bread.
She loved her children and always tried to make sure they had good a Christmas and birthday.
She is survived by two brothers, Dale Polk and Harvey Polk, and one sister Elaine Stewart: two sons, Tommy Tennison and William Tennison and one daughter, Lyida Campbell: ten grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Schaudt's Glenpool-Bixby Funeral Service, 1329 East 151st, Glenpool, OK at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Viewing is from 9:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service.
