Doris “Dee” Laverne (Melton) Hamby, Sapulpa area resident, peacefully passed away late Tuesday evening with her loving family by her side at the age of 78 years.
She was born on March 25, 1940 in Arlington, Texas to her parents, Gene Delbert and Onia Merle (Moore) Melton.
Dee was a multifaceted business woman specializing in banking, real estate, construction, and more. She ended her 15 year career at OCCU as a highly respected branch manager.
Dee enjoyed golf, bowling, and loved watching her grandchildren play soccer, where she never missed a game. Being a conservative Republican, she was an avid Fox News follower. She was also an animal lover and a wonderful cook. She gardened and was an excellent seamstress. Dee loved her morning coffee while reading her daily devotional, as family and God were the most important things in her life. She was known for her great sense of humor; being overly generous and extremely selfless. She touched the lives of everyone she met and never met a stranger!
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Onia Melton; brother, David Melton.
She leaves many loving memories with her family, daughter, Christi Lousch, daughter, Dawn Florentine and husband Paul, granddaughter, Desiree Remington and husband Waylon, grandson, Jason Trevathan and wife Alicia, grandson, Justin Trevathan and wife Erin, grandson, Vincent Florentine, grandson, Dustin Lousch and wife Brittany, granddaughter, Shelbi Erb and husband Ben, great-grandson, Bentley Erb, great-grandson, Jagger Remington great-granddaughter, Haven Trevathan, and great-grandson, Jacob Deweese and wife Jaci, and great-great granddaughter, Peyton Deweese, as well as many other loving family members and a host of friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 pm Monday August 6, 2018 at The Hill located at 13475 West 146th Street S., Sapulpa, OK 74066, with Pastor Travis Cherry officiating.
