Doris L. Stowers

Doris L. Stowers, a resident of Claremore and former resident of Okmulgee, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the age of 87. She was born Friday, April 21, 1922 to Otis and Alice (Norman) Fowler in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Helen and brother, James. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Russell Stowers of the home; daughter, Connie Clark and husband, Keith of Pryor; sister, Virginia Brannon of Broken Arrow; two grandchildren, Kim Thompson and husband, Shawn of Pryor and Brian Clark of Claremore; five great grandchildren, Lexie and Trenton Thompson, Tyler, Laken and Jacob Clark and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Dean McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow the service under the direction of the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Visitation will be held Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Kelley Funeral Home. Friends may send their condolences to www.shurdenkelley.com
