Donna Ruth Holmberg

Donna Ruth Holmberg passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at her home in Tulsa.
She was born February 10, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Harry and Evelyn (Stern) Horwitz.
Donna attended Hyde Park High School, Chicago, IL.; nursing school at Mt. Sinai, Chicago, IL. and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Health Sciences from Stephens College in Missouri.

Donna worked in Mt. Sinai Hospital, Chicago, Il, taught at Northwestern, worked in George Washington University, Washington, D.C., where she met William. She also worked in Alexandria Virginia Hospital. Donna and William married in Washington, D.C. in 1960.

In her early years, she raised and trained poodles. She loved ball room dancing, served as President of the local dance club. Donna loved shopping. In 1962 they moved to Tulsa, Ok and became a longtime member of First Christian Church. There she worked for Osteopathic Hospital, St. John Hospital, Saint Francis Hospital, she was the Director of Nurses at Ambassador Manor Nursing Home, President of NE Oklahoma Oncology Nursing Association, as well as home health care. She taught at Career Point College, Platt College and retired from American Institute of Medical Technology in 2006 at the age of 73.

Donna was preceded in death by parents. She is survived by husband, William of the home; daughter, Cheryl Holmberg of Tulsa and son, Kirk Holmberg of Tulsa; and sister, Lynne Hall and her husband, Gene.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, February 15, 2016 at Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service. Tulsa. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 16, 2016 in Schaudt-Teel Funeral Home Chapel, 5757 S. Memorial Dr. Tulsa, Ok 74145.
