Donna Rae Ayres

Donna Rae (Downing) Ayres age 79 passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Donna was born June 12, 1933 in Chelsea, Oklahoma to Lewis Downing and Rose (Maderocha) Downing. She graduated from Chelsea High School with the Class of 1952. Donna attended Haskell University in Lawrence, Kansas. She married J. W. Ayres January 16, 1954. For twenty years Donna worked in the Purchasing Department for the City of Tulsa. She was a homemaker and a dedicated housewife. She loved to cook, liked working in her flower beds and attending street rod club events with her husband. Donna attended First Baptist Church -Jenks. She was preceded in death by her parents: Lewis and Rose Downing and her sister, Ocie (Downing) Hains. Donna is survived by her husband, J. W. Ayres of Jenks, her son, Terry Ayres of Tulsa, her grandsons: Eric Gonzales and Travis Ayres, her great grandson: Isaiah Gonzales, her sister Norma (Young) McDaniel and her husband, Bert of Owasso, other loving family members and friends. Visitation is 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 at First Baptist Church - Jenks. Reverend Rick Frie will officiate. There will be a private family interment at Bixby Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care.
