Donna Criley Walker
In the early morning hours on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018, Donna Criley Walker, of Jenks, OK, passed away at Porta Caeli House, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Donna lived an incredible 82 years.
Donna was born on January 12, 1935, in Burbank, CA, the daughter of the late Donald G. Brookins and Elizabeth (Stanton). In 1953, Donna’s beauty and brains won her the title of Miss Panorama City (Los Angeles, California) all while she graduated from Van Nuys High School. While at Van Nuys she was also a member of the DAPS (deputy auxiliary police) where she won three marksman ship awards.
In 1964, Donna lost the love of her life, husband and best friend, Lawrence H. Walker. They had two beautiful boys, Brian and Scott.
Donna worked as a Benefits Administrator of Rocketdyne helping with NASA’s Gemini Project, as well as Polycomp Financial Services and also working as a school administrator while raising her two sons. Donna was also an avid bowler, which she happily taught and passed down to both her sons. Like her father, Donna had a talent and passion for singing especially around the family piano. She had a passion for collecting immaculate antiques ranging from crystal, clocks and postcards to memorabilia from her all-time favorite film ‘The Wizard of Oz”. Donna also enjoyed being outside to watch the hummingbirds and tending to her gardening. When she was given the opportunity, she was eager to travel, especially to Australia to visit her grandkids. Donna’s loved one’s are extremely proud of her legacy and will continue to share her love of family, her passion for recording it and the simple joys of life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and stepmother.
Loved one’s include sons, Brian L. Walker and wife, Nelda J., and Scott L. Walker and wife, Deborah; brothers, Douglas E. Brookins and wife Jennifer; and Dennis E. Brookins and wife, Janet; and especially her 2 grandchildren, Lauren R. Walker and Alexander S. Walker. She will be missed by all who knew her but they know she’s somewhere over the rainbow at peace.
