Donivee Collett age 86, passed away peacefully with family at her side October 14, 2019 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She was born November 30, 1932 in Kellyville, Oklahoma to Joseph and Bertha Dowdy. Wife of the late Harley Collett.

Donivee was born in Oklahoma and her family moved to California during the Great Depression where she met her husband and had her children. Most of her family still resides in or near Armona, California.

In her early years, she worked as a waitress and managed the Winchell Donut Shop in Hanford, California. In 1972, the family relocated to Bixby Oklahoma and then Checotah, Oklahoma where she obtained her CDL license and drove truck with her husband. In her later years Donivee worked as a home health aide to an elderly couple. Donivee loved fishing for crappie (and she was very good at that), gardening, quilting and donating to the local Indian establishments. Donivee was loved by everyone she met. She was easy to talk to and always welcoming at her home.

Donivee is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bertha; four brothers George, Haskell, Joseph and David (Bud) and four sisters, Myrle, Jacquelin, Waynoka and Betty Joe.

Donivee is survived by her three sisters: Opal Davis of Armona, California, Cleffie (Clay) Wallin, Warner, Oklahoma and Mona Anacleto, Hanford, California; eight children: Judy Shrum, Joe Collett, Joy Reed, LaDonna Collett, Twila Bright, Debbie Clements, Harley Collett Jr and Jessie Collett, 14 grandchildren: plus 19 great grandchildren. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Rebold Manor and Good Shepard Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Okmulgee, OK for their support in her final days.

A private memorial service is planned to be held in or near Checotah, Oklahoma for family members.

Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Okmulgee Funeral Service & Cremation Care Centers.
