Donald Earl Witt, 85 passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at his home in Okmulgee. Don's first job was at Southwest Porcelain in Sand Springs, where he always jokingly said the reason he got the job was they needed a fast pitch softball player. Moving to Okmulgee in 1974, he was the first employee hired by Alliance Wall and retired in 2001.
While Don enjoyed gardening, he enjoyed golf more and you could often see him hitting golf balls in his front yard.
A Deacon of the Second Baptist Church he also taught Sunday School for many years. He loved picking his guitar and singing God's praises.
He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Mabel, two brothers Ronald and Hershal.
Survivors include wife Shirley of the home, two sons Michael of El Paso, Texas, and Lee and wife Jeanne of Shawnee, three beautiful granddaughters, Paige, Elaine, and Maddie, two sisters Barbara Vickrey of Milfay, Oklahoma and Marietta Graham and husband Richard of Depew, Oklahoma, sister-in-law Frances Witt from Tulsa, plus extended family and friends.
