Donald William Slape, a former resident of Okmulgee, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the age of 66 in Houston, Texas. He was born November 29, 1946 to Stirl and Jean (Brewer) Slape in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army and was a devoted member to the Creoks Mental Health Services in Okmulgee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stirl and Jean Slape. Survivors include his sister, Mary Lyons and husband, Andy of Houston, Texas; niece, Terri Ealry of Claremore, nephew, Chris Keys and wife, Mandy of Tahlequah; great nieces and nephews, Joshua Hilliard and wife, Tiffany of Oklahoma City, Brittany Loyd and husband, JP of Claremore, Patricia Hilliard of Claremore and Jordan Hilliard of Claremore; great-great nieces and nephews, Emily and Ethan Keys of Tahlequah and Thadus and Theodore Loyd of Claremore and other relatives and friends. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Reverend Bill Fuller officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be assisted by the Patriot Guard. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Army.
