Donald Ray Scott, a resident of Hitchita, passed away, Friday, July 9th, 2010 at the age of 71. He was born November 27th, 1938 to Ted and Dite (Calvert) Scott in Hitchita, Oklahoma. On May 24, 1967, he married in Paula C. Sturman in Coalton, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Dite Scott, daughter, Paula LaNee Scott, two sisters and one brother. Survivors include his wife, Paula Scott of the home; five children, Randy Scott and wife, Shelia of Eufaula, Ricky Scott of Hitchita, Rhonda Cunningham and husband Eric of Henryetta, Cathyerine Moore of Coweta and Lydia Scott of Hitchita; one sister, Mary Morgan of Wewoka, very special brother-in-law, Curtis Brill; fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2010 at the Hitchita Freewill Baptist Church with Brother Andy Campbell and Reverend Wayne Patton officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Lackey Cemetery in Hitchita under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Henryetta. Pallbearers will be Jonathon, Zack, Brian, Jason, Michael, Cody, Morgan, Bradley and Darian. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ernie Sphore, Oval Ward, Mark Winn and John Carson. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home.
