Donald Edward Carter

Donald Edward Carter, age 95 passed away at his Jenks residence
on Monday, September 7, 2015.

Donald was born July 27, 1920 in Altus, Arkansas to Elmer Truman and Archie Beatrice (Garner) Carter. His immediate family consisted of two sisters and nine brothers. He graduated from Altus Arkansas High School. Donald joined the United States Navy and served in World War II in the Pacific Theater and received a three battle star cluster and the Presidential Unit Citation and for his military service. He married the love of his life, Audrey Vanderau and they shared sixty-two years of happiness together. Donald was a plumber by trade and retired in 1985 after working for Lexington Plumbing Company. He was a long time member of Plumbers and Gas Fitters Union No. 8 located in Kansas City, Missouri. Donald was a member of Jenks United Methodist Church, Jenks, Oklahoma.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters, his seven brothers and his wife, Audrey, who passed away February 12, 2012.

He is survived by his daughter, Anna Jo Moore of Sapulpa, his son, Paul E. Carter of Jenks, his two brothers, Reverend Earl Carter of Little Rock, Arkansas, his brother, Carroll Carter of Fort Smith Arkansas, his three grandchildren along with other family members and friends.

Visitation is 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel, 719 East 141st Street, Glenpool, Oklahoma.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2015 at Jenks United Methodist Church, 415 E. Main Street, Jenks, OK (918 299-5462). Reverend Rudy Freese will officiate. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
