Donald Carroll Huddleston was born in Lamesa TX. Aug 10th 1936. The youngest of seven. Three brothers and three sisters. All deceased except for one sister Mary Rodgers of Brownfield TX. He was raised on a farm and went to school in Meadow TX. South of Lubbock. The family moved to Hillsboro TX. When he was 16 due to his fathers bad heath. After school Carroll returned to West TX. At the age of 17 he started his lifelong career in the oilfield. Working on the rigs in the field has an operator. He also worked in the shops learning the mechanics. To add to his mechanical skills he had a great personality and loved people, he never met a stranger. Using these he worked in sales and service for rig manufacturers. First going to South Louisiana and the surrounding territories. Then back to Texas; from Odessa to Corpus Christi. Moving to Tulsa he went to work for Cooper Rig. For them he would travel to South America and Egypt rigging up rigs. Opportunity offered him a job in Okla. City. He would then work and help manage a oilfield machine and repair facility. There he would build rigs and rig components for overloaded manufacturing companies. A major crash in the oilfield and starting his battle with cancer would lead Carroll in many hard directions. He worked in a nuclear plant and traveled to cancer treatments. He worked has a machinist in McAlester OK. Carroll never said never and could fix just about anything he set his mind on. He always fought and worked hard no matter what he faced. After having to retire early due to his heath he would continue use his talents at home. Carroll was a strong good man who many people loved and admired. He will be missed! Survived by; Wife: Ruth Huddleston Daughter: Pam Stewart of Norman OK. Son: Mike Almond of Oklahoma City and wife Jan Son: Robert Huddleston of Corpus Christi TX. and wife Lindy Daughter: Brenda King of Anadarko OK. and husband Terry …5 grandchildren; Josh, Robbie, Keely, Kolby and Rachel... And 10 great-grandchildren...
