Donald Bruce Harper

April 18, 1955 — March 17, 2022

Donald (Don) Harper, of Broken Arrow, departed this world on March 17th2022 surrounded by family.

Don was born on April 18th, 1955 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to J. Lyle and P. Margaret Harper who have predeceased him. He is also predeceased by his daughter Jacqueline Harper of Ontario Canada. Don is survived by his wife Lynn, his daughter Cathie (Mike) Dobbin of Ontario Canada, son Joel Clouse of Ouray CO, daughter Sonya (Rob) Blakemore of Loveland CO and his beloved grandchildren Nolan Dobbin, Rachel and Charlie Clouse, Haelie and Cameron Blakemore and great granddaughter Paisley Taylor. He is also survived by his siblings in Ontario Canada: Judy Kupecz, John Harper and Edward Harper.

Don was united in marriage to Lynn on August 29th, 1996 in Littleton CO. Don never took for granted the special moments, big or small, that he spent with his family - whether it was travelling and exploring with Lynn, spending time at the family cottage, watching the Toronto Blue Jays with his daughter from afar or teaching his grandchildren to ice skate. He loved Lynn with reverence and devotion and showed it often by delivering her weekly flowers and Sunday morning donuts. His children and grandchildren were the light of his heart and he would eagerly talk about them to just about anyone who would listen.

Don started his career in Human Resources at Dofasco Steel in Canada and over the years worked with several companies in the same field, retiring the day he moved to heaven from his career as head of Human Resources for Victory Energy in Collinsville, OK. Don treated his staff like members of his own family and inspired them with his kindness, dedication and mentorship. Don was a patriotic dual citizen of Canada and the USA. He was a passionate hockey coach and worked to inspire his athletes to be the best version of themselves both on and off the ice. Don was active in churches in the Denver CO and Westerville OH areas and in 2017 became a certified Chaplain. Those close to him know that Don showed his love for people through the art of conversation. His spirit and legacy live on in the lives of all the people who were fortunate enough to know him.

"We think about you always. We talk about you still. You have never been forgotten and you never will. We hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain, to walk and guide us through our lives, until we meet again."

A memorial service in his honour will be held Tuesday March 22, 2022 at Schaudts Funeral 5757 Memorial Drive Tulsa OK at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Samaritans Purse www.samarianspurse.org.
