Dominique Kim Dandridge, passed away on January 28th, 2024, in his hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma at the young age of 29. Born September 11, 1994 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, he is the cherished son of Melinda Dandridge and the loving older brother of Xavier Dandridge. Dominique was a graduate of Union High School, class of 2013 and went on to attend Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma to major in Business. Dominique was baptized at Olivet Baptist Church in Lawton, Oklahoma.
At the tender age of 5, Dominique started practicing Taekwondo which would become his first love. Over the years, Dominique excelled at his craft and was promoted to 4th degree black belt under Kangs Taekwondo. Under Grandmaster Kang, Dominique was able to travel to Kukkiwon several times, which is the world taekwondo headquarters. In 2018, Dominique pursued his passion as a mixed martial art fighter where he was able to showcase his talent in several competitions. In 2022, Dominique spread his wings and was the head instructor at Premier Martial Arts in Lathum, New York. Dominique loved teaching kids his craft and in New York he was known as Master Dom. While in New York he acquired Khan, an akita husky who was his most loyal companion.
In 2023, Dominique returned home and returned to teaching at Kang's Taekwondo. Dominique enjoyed mastering Taekwondo, Muay Thai, mixed martial arts and Krav Maga. He was an avid gamer and loved gaming with his younger brother Xavier. Dominique was a gentle, quiet, and sweet spirit. He loved spending time with his grandparents, cooking Korean food, playing guitar and trombone as well as always meticulously tending to his fro, showcasing a sense of personal style.
Dominique is survived by his mother Melinda Dandridge (Ron) and brother Xavier Dandridge of Tulsa; grandparents Lewis and Kim Dandridge of Lawton; Uncle James Dandridge of Lawton and his beloved dog Khan; cousins, friends, and other relatives.
