Dixie Jean Kennedy

March 26, 1933 — September 7, 2018

Dixie Jean Kennedy of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away September 7, 2018. She was born March 26, 1933 at home in Kansas City, Missouri to Ivan and Arlene Brunkow. She lived in several states during her childhood and finished her teen years in Tulsa. She attended Stephens College, The University of Missouri and Southwestern Seminary. She taught first and second grade in Tulsa Public schools for over 30 years. She had a passion for teaching children and the children adored her.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Rusty Brunkow. She is survived by her 5 children, James Kennedy, Curtis (Lisa) Kennedy, Kelly Connally, Heidi Cowen and Rusty (Michelle) Kennedy. She also has 9 grandchildren, Zack, Ally and Greg Kennedy, Brett and Blake Connally, Cody and Emily Cowen and Cory and Chloe Kennedy. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy!

More than anything, she loved Jesus. She was always the one we could count on to pray for us. She will be dearly missed.
