Desdie Lee Sowell

On January 5, 2017, Desdie, “Deck” Sowell passed away following an illness while living at the Grace Living Center in Jenks, OK. Deck is survived by her son, Thomas, (and his wife Norma), of Jenks and her daughter Janice of Sacramento, California. She had three grandchildren, Sean, (and his wife Kelli), Christopher and Teresa, (and her husband Scott), five great grandchildren, Sydney, Riley, Hadley, Jackson and Wyatt. Deck was born December 16, 1924 in Waxhaw, NC and was the daughter of John Reed Jackson and Loma Catherine Wolf. She had four brothers and four other sisters which are all deceased. Deck was married to Moody, “Tut” Sowell for 40 years until his passing in 1982. They lived in Europe and the Far East and most of their married lives on the Monterey Peninsula in California. Just before the Christmas holidays, Deck celebrated her 92nd birthday and much to her delight, with her Oklahoma family. All were so grateful and blessed to have had such a delightful last time with her and all will savor those wonderful memories.
